Children's Songs From Around the World

Description

Traditional music, from almost all regions of the world, is often - if not exclusively - made by adults. What do we know about the music of children and teenagers of Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania and Eastern Europe? There are few documents answering these questions and field recordings are scarce.

Prompted by his interest for this type of music, Francis Corpataux, a professor of music and education at the University of Sherbrooke, has spent 15 years travelling the roads and trails of more than twenty-five countries, with microphone in one hand, and camera in the other to listen to and record the music, voices and faces of these children.
